About Us: RPGs for Teachers
Welcome to RPGs for Teachers! We’re glad you’ve found us, and we’re excited to share our passion for tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs) with educators, game stores, libraries, and anyone interested in the educational power of gaming.
Our Beginning
RPGs for Teachers was founded in 2024 by Witch Pleas Publishing. We were created in response to the growing interest in tabletop gaming as a powerful tool for education. As more and more teachers began to discover the unique benefits of TTRPGs in the classroom—such as enhancing literacy, improving social skills, and fostering creativity—we realized there was a need for a dedicated resource that could help educators bring these games into their schools.
What We Do
At RPGs for Teachers, our mission is simple: to provide educators with the tools, resources, and support they need to successfully incorporate tabletop roleplaying games into their teaching. We believe that TTRPGs are more than just games—they’re opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way.
To support this mission, we offer a wide range of resources, including:
Guides for Educators: Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to the world of TTRPGs, we provide step-by-step guides on how to start gaming classes and clubs in your school. Our resources cover everything from selecting the right game for your students, creating an inclusive environment, to managing in-game challenges that align with educational goals.
Lesson Plans and Curriculum Ideas: We understand that educators are busy, which is why we’ve developed ready-to-use lesson plans and curriculum ideas that integrate TTRPGs into various subjects. These resources are designed to align with educational standards and can be adapted for different grade levels.
Community and Networking: We’re here to help you connect with other educators who share your passion for TTRPGs. Our online forums and social media groups provide spaces for teachers to exchange ideas, share success stories, and troubleshoot challenges together.
Support for Game Stores and Libraries: We believe that TTRPGs can thrive not just in classrooms, but in community spaces as well. That’s why we offer resources specifically for game stores and libraries, including an index of gaming classes and clubs in their area. This helps them connect with local educators and families, fostering a community of gamers that extends beyond school walls.
Connecting with the Gaming Industry
One of our key goals is to bridge the gap between the education sector and the gaming industry. We know that classroom budgets can be tight, so we’re working to build partnerships with gaming companies to provide free or discounted tabletop gaming materials to schools, libraries, and community centers.
By connecting educators with gaming companies, we aim to make high-quality gaming resources accessible to all students, regardless of their school’s financial situation. We’re proud to be advocates for educators who see the value in using games as a learning tool, and we’re committed to helping them get the materials they need.
Get Involved
RPGs for Teachers is a community-driven organization, and we welcome anyone who shares our vision to get involved. Here’s how you can help:
Donations: Your financial support helps us create more resources for educators, fund outreach programs, and expand our efforts to bring TTRPGs to classrooms across the country. We appreciate donations of any size, and every contribution goes directly toward supporting our mission.
Volunteer: We’re always looking for volunteers to help with various aspects of our work. Whether you’re a TTRPG enthusiast who wants to share your knowledge with teachers, a writer who can help us develop new resources, or a community organizer who can help coordinate events, we’d love to have you on board.
Spread the Word: If you know an educator, librarian, or game store owner who might be interested in what we do, let them know about us! Word of mouth is one of the most powerful ways we can grow our community and reach more people who can benefit from our resources.
Looking to the Future
As we move forward, our goal is to continue expanding our reach and deepening our impact. We’re constantly working on new resources and exploring innovative ways to support educators and students through tabletop gaming.
In the coming years, we hope to:
Expand our Library of Resources: We’re committed to creating more guides, lesson plans, and curriculum ideas that cater to different subjects, grade levels, and student needs.
Host Workshops and Training Sessions: We’re planning to offer workshops and training sessions for educators who want to learn more about integrating TTRPGs into their teaching. These sessions will provide hands-on experience with games and offer practical tips for running successful gaming programs.
Build Stronger Partnerships: We’re excited to continue building relationships with gaming companies, educational institutions, and community organizations. By working together, we can create more opportunities for students to experience the benefits of TTRPGs.
Launch National Initiatives: We’re exploring the possibility of launching national initiatives that promote the use of TTRPGs in education, including campaigns that raise awareness about the educational value of games and advocate for their inclusion in school curriculums.
Join Us on This Adventure
We believe that education is an adventure, and TTRPGs are one of the most exciting ways to embark on that journey. Whether you’re a teacher, a librarian, a game store owner, or simply someone who loves the world of tabletop games, we invite you to join us in our mission to bring the magic of TTRPGs into classrooms and communities.
Together, we can inspire a new generation of learners, foster creativity and collaboration, and make education more engaging for students everywhere.
Thank you for visiting RPGs for Teachers. We’re excited to see where this journey will take us, and we hope you’ll be a part of it!
